A German firm is setting up its first tech centre in India with an investment of $8–10 million in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The move comes under the Global Startup Exchange Programme, backed by the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) and Germany India Innovation Centre (GIIC). The announcement was linked to discussions at the Global Investors Summit 2025 in Bhopal. German companies see Indore as attractive due to the presence of IIT Indore and IIM Indore, a growing tech ecosystem with TCS, Infosys, and Infobeans, low operational costs, supportive government policies, and high livability. A delegation of German firms specializing in AI, IoT, workflow automation, enterprise software, and document processing visited MP, including Tylers, Talonic, Staex, Q-nnect AG, and Cloud-Squid. The visit included roundtable discussions with MPIDC officials and networking with startups, universities, and incubation centres. The five-day immersion program (Aug 18–22, 2025) covered Indore, Ujjain, and Bhopal, featuring startup visits, campus tours, fireside chats, and matchmaking sessions with local innovators. Topics discussed included “Building Global Digital Products from India” and “Scaling with Agility – Indian and German Perspectives.” In February 2025, the GIIC, Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC), and Asia-Berlin Forum signed an MoU to strengthen bilateral innovation and digitization ties. The overall aim is to create a sustainable India–Germany innovation corridor that supports cross-border startups, research, and technology growth.
