GPT-5 is here — cheaper, faster, and much stronger at coding. Cursor can switch between models, but GitHub Copilot is moving its users fully to GPT-5. If Copilot completes the switch, Anthropic doesn’t just stumble — it loses nearly half its API business in one shot. This isn’t “competition.” It’s a billion-dollar company standing on two shaky pillars. One wrong move by a customer, and the whole thing could collapse.
