Show case, as the name suggests, is for the enthusiastic people to pitch their ideas or give a glimpse of what they are intending to do. Yes, Medial did reward them, probably for the sake of encouragement or increasing the engagement to the platform, but I honestly used to think what's the need of giving a cash prize. With the cash prize going away, still the core intention of the show case would stay the same. Like you mentioned in your post that people are using the app to participate in show case, I believe they were interested in pitching their idea and get some insights from the other users. If the intention of the user is to get the monetary benefit and shun off the idea the minute he wins the prize, probably the reward is doing injustice to the others who are seriously looking for something. Everyone would admit to the fact that, ideas are not startups, ideas are not businesses. Winning a prize for an idea shouldn't be the benchmark of this platform. Probably, people and even the medial team would disagree with what I say, but this is my opinion.

The cash reward was of no help to winners. We are trying to figure out a better way to support startups.
