The U.S. has raised tariffs on many countries for economic or whatsoever reasons and not only on India .There’s no official statement saying the tariff was to force India to "take sides." It's more about trade imbalances and protecting U.S. industries , isn't it ? so my point is It's more about diplomacy than frndship
