Bengaluru, once seen as the cultural heartland of Karnataka, is now at the center of a growing language controversy fueled by rapid migration and urban expansion. With over half the city's population being migrants , many from other Indian states , kannadigas , feel their language and identity are being sidelined in their own land. while it’s important to preserve the local language, enforcing kannada over everyone and vandalizing non-Kannada signboards or shaming people damages Bengaluru’s image as a cosmopolitan, welcoming city. Preserving ones culture and language in their own land is important but , Is this the only way to do it is the question.
