The world's largest hotel chain owns zero hotels → yet generates over ₹10,000 crore from India alone. Here's how Marriott turned hospitality into a fee-collection business ⤵️ i). Marriott owns 'virtually nothing' in India. No land, no buildings, no construction risk. ii). Developers (Panchshil, Raheja, SAMHI, Chalet) fund everything: land acquisition, construction, furniture, maintenance → everything. - Marriott runs ops: ⤷Hires and trains all hotel staff, sets room rates, revenue management, marketing, reservations, customer service, tech, etc. In return they receive Base management fee (% of hotel revenue) + Incentive fee (% of profit) + Franchise royalties + Marketing & loyalty system charges. Now India's largest hotel chain by room count (beating even Taj) - a). 150 hotels across 40+ cities b). India revenues likely to have toucher ₹11,500 Cr (2023 was somewhere around ₹9,000) c). 17-brand portfolio covers every wallet: i).Luxury: Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis, JW Marriott, W Hotels ii).Premium: Marriott, Sheraton, Westin, Le Méridien iii).Select-service: Courtyard, Fairfield, Four Points, Aloft d). Scaling beyond metros: 75% of new rooms are Tier II/III cities: Katra, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Guwahati( Religious tourism boom). ⏭️The loyalty moat is massive → 5M Marriott Bonvoy members generate 70% of room-nights.
