RIP "-" (1806-2025) It is with profound grammatical grief that we announce the passing of Em Dash (-), aged 219. There was a time when this simple yet-majestic dash could connect ideas, emotions and even couples on the verge of divorce. And then came Al. Chatbots loved him. Overused him. Worshipped him. Today, if you use "-", people assume ChatGPT wrote it. So, in the end-he was taken not by time, but by overexposure. We might be the first generation of writers who outlived a punctuation mark. He is survived by: - The comma, who never left his side - The colon, his uptight cousin - And the semicolon-still confused about its purpose A private funeral will be held in the comments section-Drop your thoughts and prayers 😂
