If you want your designer to develop the product solution also: I believe that now most solutions will be of substandard quality and will require significant market validation. The focus is shifting back to a more generalist approach before narrowing down to a specialist domain. This means that aiming for a T-shaped skillset may no longer be ideal for designers. It's important to move beyond just interfaces; companies now need designers who can understand, solve, and build comprehensive solutions. You'll be driving innovation from start to finish. While I do develop my ideas, I realise that this approach may not be the best path for product development.
