Honestly even crypto is not backed by anything, and we can't use gold for payments (and neither any popular currency still follows the gold standard). So that way, we literally can't trust any currency if you think that way. All runs currencies liter

Crypto is a solution imo. Firstly, people assume Bitcoin isn't backed by anything which is somewhat true but bitcoin is Old and the only trustworthy crypto that can be exchanged P2P , It's limited like gold. However, it's not stable and initially even gold was unstable and people also thought it's not a good option for store of value but gradually it became. Maybe same for BTC as well. Let's see where it goes. Eventually, I would keep very minimal Fiat ( for just buying goods) and remaining all in assets ( which can be easily withdrawn ) btw you can use gold for payment using Crypto wrapped gold , example XAUT.

Agreed. Crypto will most likely became a popular currency but that will take time.. Maybe atleast a decade because according to me it will be more of the GenZ like us who will actually start earning in this period and thus start buying and using crypto too. A ton of people are already using it but it's more for the investment point of view. Payments too require a Network effect so it will only prove to be successful when a large portion of population starts using it. And for that to happen we need to make using crypto as a currency very easy by starting multiple websites where we buy solely from crypto (they exists), an easy to use crypto wallet similar to paypal for p2p payments (that too exists) and then we need payment gateways which let's you directly pay through your crypto wallet too (not sure whether they exist, but they're surely not not too common). So yeah, crypto is surely the future of currency but it still got time until it becomes mainstream.
