I participated in MSME Hackathon 4.0 in Madhya Pradesh, representing my startup that provides end-to-end IT security solutions. In India, very few security software products are made locally—most companies use foreign tools. Indian firms avoid local cybersecurity due to high costs and lack of strong government action on data privacy. Ironically, the selected idea in the hackathon was an automatic pani puri machine. Such ideas get support, while deep-tech innovations like ours are ignored. Mr. Piyush Goyal once said Indian startups lack innovation and create cheap labor. I disagree—real innovation isn’t being supported. Even Shark Tank India backs food or lifestyle startups over tech. Startups like ours are self-funded and trying hard to build strong cybersecurity tools, while India remains dependent on foreign software. Without proper support, we can’t build strong, homegrown solutions in critical tech sectors.
