We follow a simple rule, where shares are directly proportional to work that has been done (JIRA Story Points). It is because 9 out of 10 people join just to watch how things are done in an startup. Things are different when all co-founders are IITian or already proven to be very hard working. But 99% people live in their dream and wont do anything to make it a reality.

The vesting schedule makes sense but what about IP protection? If someone leaves after one year with 25% vested, do they retain rights to technology they helped build?
