Blocked Again? On Wednesday, Instagram accounts of actors and cricketers had briefly become visible to Indian user By Thursday morning, they were once again found to be blocked in India after an emergency internal review. The government reinstated the block on over 18,000 social media accounts after the backlash over the brief period of lifting the ban. This includes individual accounts of celebrities, influencers, media entities, and entertainment networks operating from Pakistan. The government sources say that the brief reappearance of these accounts was not the result of any policy change, but a technical glitch or delay in compliance by platforms. Officials also said that a few handles on X, YouTube or Meta which may still appear accessible to some users, will become inaccessible within a few hours as the issue has been resolved.
