AI tools look like the easier option — build faster, automate more, skip the tech headaches. But if you’re not from a tech background, it’s risky. These tools often hallucinate, and without coding knowledge, spotting and fixing those mistakes can be harder than doing it yourself. That’s why I still believe in taking the harder, more traditional path: find a solid cofounder. A cofounder from a tier-1 college brings credibility, a strong network, good mentorship, and better access to funding. And if that feels out of reach, look at new-age schools like Scaler or Newton School. Their students are skilled, startup-driven, and actively building. Bonus? These colleges want success stories. If you grow, they benefit too — so they’ll support and promote you. Long-term, it’s a smarter play: Tech cofounder + ecosystem support > unstable AI shortcuts.
