10-Day Start-up Series 🔥 21st June 2025 🧵 Post 1️⃣ : What Startup is Really about ? 🎯 I have seen everyone saying they have a startup idea. But is it really a startup ? Everything that starts isn't a startup it can even be a business. 💡 Start-up :- A company in it's first stage of operations. 📌 What Startup is actually about? A start-up isn’t just a new business. It's a "temporary experimental venture" which is crafted to solve a real problem in a way to scale under few uncertainties. But it can't be a "Permanent venture" because permanent ventures doesn't have any kind of risk or doesn't need to be an early stage venture. Whether you’re building a tech app, a D2C brand, or a service platform or a B2B brand — the goal is growth with innovation. 🔍 Now let's talk about what Startup is and what Small / Medium scale Business are : 🔹Startups goal is to scale, but business goal is always a income. 🔹 Risk of Startup are always high, but risk in business is low or moderate. 🔹 Start-up innovation are to the core to the model, but in business the innovation are always optional not necessary. 🔹 Start-up funding can be even extrernal through VC or Angels, but in business it's internal funding like Loans, profits or own capital always. 🔹 Startup not all but usually exit through IPO or acquisition, but business have no way to exit the only way to exit is focused long term income. ✅ Wanna know the main traits / quality of starting a real Start-up ? 🔹 Solves a real-world problems, maybe even some painful problem. 🔹 Have growth potential 🔹 Is repeatable fr competition 🔹 Has a clear tech/process moat ( moat is a ability to maintain the competative advantages that expected to help you grow ) 🔹 Can investors fund this ? 💡Let's take an Example: A person who opens a cafe / chai ka thela is a Business. ( Example : Rameshwaram cafe ) A person who builds a platform that lets anyone open cloud kitchens using tech is called Startup. ( Example : Rebel foods ) 🔥 One tip for founders i would say is, if you really building a start-up, ask one question to yourself : If you remove yourself from the team will the idea grow ? If your answer is yes. Then you are on the right path ( few of them may think this tip is baseless or useless, but when you really understand it you will know what i meant ) I will leave here with 3 question, requesting you to engage in the comments. It might even help you in validating your idea who knows 🤷. 1. Am I solving a real, burning problem? If you have a doubt comment what problem you wish to solve. 2. Will people pay for this — or are they already? If you have confusion, ask people in here use comments, use Medial to ask it. Use the platform for what it was made for. 3. Can I scale this beyond my city or country ? Ask yourself and people in here. -----Startups grow even when you sleep. Businesses sleep when you do.------ *This Post adhers to all community guidelines* *The image used below is property of Investopedia sourced by Google images* * The content is based on my own knowledge *
