How exactly do skimming devices work on modern chip-enabled POS machines? Are they targeting the magnetic stripe backup, or have they found ways to compromise chip transactions too?

so for those new chip card machines skimmers mostly try to get the magnetic stripe data only, just in case, because that chip system is quite secure, It encrypts everything. Or, they try to mess with the machine's software itself, but breaking the chip's security directly is very tough let me attach a reel on how it's done
