Actually people did care about GPT-3. Not directly but indirectly. Platforms like Copy.ai, Shopify, Duolingo, etc used it for various purposes. Copy.ai was almost completely dependent on it. Only thing is that people didn't knew about OpenAi and GPT, that's all.
