What’s one thing schools should teach, but don’t? "Critical and independent thinking" Back in 9th and 10th grade, I was deeply interested in startups and used to watch Shark Tank regularly. But the message around me was always the same: “Crack JEE/NEET, get a high-paying job, and life is set.” Even now in 12th, around 60% of my classmates are preparing for those exams—often not out of passion, but due to pressure. The result? Increased competition, reduced creativity, and rising mental health issues. I once asked a school counsellor about careers in B.Arch and entrepreneurship. His response? “Pehle 10th to kar lo.” It was clear—bias runs deep, even in guidance. We need an education system that values curiosity, creativity, and the courage to explore unconventional paths. Not just one that rewards rote learning. It’s time we redefined what success looks like. #education #criticalthinking #careerchoices #entrepreneurship #StudentVoices #FutureOfLearning #TeenagersKiAwaz
