Well there can be a case where he has just found the original instruments of purchase and not the sale instruments. Life hasn’t been that fruitful for the middleclass based on the rising cost of living, there would have been high chances that the shares would have been sold to ensure a stable living, education, household debt or even land/house purchases. If that’s not the case, great for the person if he has found actual available shares.
