Last valuation? A whopping $𝟗 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 — 𝐚𝐭 𝟕𝟕𝐱 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞. That’s VC-speak for “we’re betting BIG on future usage.” Smart positioning for investors. But here’s the catch: •𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬 will rise. •𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 of user behavior inside the browser could get tricky. If they pull it off, Perplexity could be the next big thing in AI x Search. If not, it might turn into another data-hungry product people grow to distrust.
