the thing is — china has a closed market. companies like deepseek or baidu don’t have to compete with openai or google inside china. they grow fast because there’s no external pressure. but in india, the market is open. startups like sarvam.ai are building in real-time while competing directly with global giants like openai, microsoft, and google. it’s like trying to build your own search engine while google is already in the room. insanely tough.
