Hey everyone, first post here & new to code, trying to create a Medical based model, is it worth it? As i've received many comments like ChatGPT etc. can do it from various Tech geeks etc. What's your take on it? Should I go all in or should i think about something else?

it's not as easy to create a model from scratch. you will need millions of dollars and experts in both the tech and domain experts.

Well, building a medical model from scratch is a huge undertaking. It requires massive amounts of specialized, highquality, often proprietary or hard to access medical data, as well as significant computational resources and deep expertise in both AI and medicine. this is going to be a huge task for an individual or even a small startup. Medical AI is highly regulated, also acccuracy, safety, and avoiding misinformation are paramount. Deploying a model that provides medical advice or diagnoses carries enormous ethical and legal responsibilities. General ai models are very broad. Maybe your model can focus on a very specific niche within medicine? (e.g rare genetic disorders, highly specialized diagnostic support for a particular field, drug interaction checker for a specific drug class). The narrower the focus, the more feasible it becomes to build something truly expert that a general model might struggle with.
