Govt Experts Review Rising COVID Cases in Singapore & Hong Kong A high-level review meeting was recently held, bringing together experts from key institutions including the NCDC, ICMR, Disaster Management Cell, Emergency Medical Relief, and major government hospitals. The meeting was prompted by the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases in Singapore and Hong Kong. According to official sources, experts closely examined the global situation but concluded that the COVID-19 situation in India remains well under control. They noted that most of the recent cases reported in Singapore and Hong Kong are mild, with no unusual increase in severity or mortality. As of May 19, 2025, India has only 257 active COVID-19 cases a remarkably low number for a country of its size. Health authorities continue to monitor the situation closely while urging the public to stay vigilant and follow basic safety measures.
