Codex being cloud-based actually makes a lot of sense when you connect it to the Windsurf acquisition. Windsurf was all about scalable cloud infra and deployment pipelines and I guess, well, by moving Codex to the cloud, they’re likely aiming to leverage that backend muscle for faster collaboration, and possibly even AI-powered code suggestions that sync in real time as well as better smoother versioning. lemme just say I think, it’s less about storage and more about creating a connected, developer-friendly ecosystem that can evolve rapidly.
