The other day, I was watching an episode of WTF (Consumer Electronics), and was really interested in what was being talked about: the supply chain problem that a lot of companies face in India. There are businesses that I searched for and kept in my, "Boring but Crucial" bucket. These are the ones that aren't flashy or attract news headlines, but are crucial in keeping our country's import bills down, powering entire industries and can be set up locally without huge rounds of funding. If you're someone who might be interested in taking up one of these, here are my top 3 suggestions: 1. Lithium-Ion Batteries Over $3.5B imported. EVs, laptops, power backups. Huge demand. Small-scale assembly or recycling can work. 2. Solar Panel Components We import $6B+ in solar tech. If you're into hardware, this is your playground. 3. Specialty Chemicals $26B worth brought in. Needed in pharma, textiles, agri. Lots of niche demand. And if you need more ideas, here's a site that lists down India's top imports. See if there's anything that might interest you.
