well for retail, one very important aspect is lights... flood your front with blinding lights. I started my career with retail, then shifted to wholesale, now IT. it's 10 years experience. lights for grabbing the walk ins. I'm not sure about watches but what worked in my business was heavy markups + heavy discounts. and limitless variety. I worked on niche and target upper middle and middle class. secondly hypothetical case. if i wanted to mass sell a product of rs 1000/- i placed a similar product of Rs. 1350/- against it. i know 1350/- won't sell, but it sold my 1000/-.
