Trees are important but severely overrated as a climate solution. The main issue with your approach is scale - you need MASSIVE reforestation efforts to make any measurable impact. Local community efforts are admirable but ultimately symbolic. Instead, focus on creating urban green corridors, advocating for policy changes, and building heat-resistant infrastructure. A dozen street trees won't stop a heat wave, but proper urban planning might.
