𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗙𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗜 Google is one of the biggest tech giants. They have everything: A top AI lab (DeepMind) Tons of data Smart people Global reach But when it came to naming their AI… they messed up. First, they called it 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐝. (Felt like a name from a fantasy video game.) Then they changed it to 𝐆𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢. (Sounds more like a horoscope app than an AI assistant.) But here’s the worst part: They didn’t even get 𝐆𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢.𝐜𝐨𝐦. How do you launch your most important AI product without owning the domain? They already had a perfect brand: 𝐃𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝. "𝐀𝐬𝐤 𝐃𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝" would’ve made sense. It already had trust, legacy, and real value in people’s minds. This shows one big lesson: 𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮’𝐥𝐥 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭. Even giants make basic mistakes. And that’s why smart, focused startups still have a real chance to win in AI.
