𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 You’ve been told you're only a little richer than your parents. But that’s not the full story. The system measures income using something called the Consumer Price Index (CPI). It sounds smart—but here’s what they don’t tell you: 𝐂𝐏𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧. That means things like antibiotics, smartphones, internet, air travel—𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 when they’re new and life-changing. So even if your life is 100x better, the stats say: “𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐭 𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫.” Let me show you the truth: Take $500 today. Go back to 1970. With that money, you could buy the kind of computing power that cost $𝟏𝟓𝟎 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 back then. Even a plastic water bottle in 1800 would’ve looked like magic. So ask yourself: Are you really “just a bit richer”? Or are you living in an age full of things that once seemed impossible? 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵: You live better than kings did 200 years ago. You just don’t feel rich—because the system doesn’t want you to. 𝗪𝗵𝘆? Because if you felt truly wealthy, you might stop chasing things that don’t matter. So next time you hear someone say “nothing’s changed,” ask them: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝟭𝟴𝟬𝟬? 𝐀𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫: 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞.
