I run a social media app. have around 400 users and 10s of Daily active users but engagement in the app is not very impressive people do post some stuff but comments replies are very low in short I want some suggestions to improve my app's overall engagment

The problem is your ratio. 400 registered but only 10s of DAUs means your retention is horrible. Forget engagement - fix your onboarding and core user experience first. Users aren't even coming back, let alone engaging deeply. This is like worrying about your car's paint job when the engine doesn't start.

Firstly, what is your USP and Core Experience. what is the benefit to people.what is the purpose of the app. Just focus on this one. Eg.,Medial is also social media app but it's purpose is different,that's y it's growing. Align your purpose and also see competition
