The underwhelming IPO response isn't about Ather's product (which is excellent) but about timing. They're raising capital right when interest rates are peaking and EV subsidies are uncertain. QIBs are hesitant because Ola Electric's post-IPO performance has been disappointing. That said, Ather has something Ola doesn't: quality control and customer satisfaction. I think QIBs will step in by end of day, but don't expect fireworks on listing. This is a 2-3 year story that needs patience.
