Can a person alone start a startup?

That depends upon your business model. If your idea is dependent on people to do things (for example, to provide a service like web design or digital marketing), starting alone is a bad idea because it will lead to burnout eventually. If you are doing an SAAS or any business that is less dependent upon people, you can start alone and hire people afterward. It is better to find someone who has the same mindset and is ready to face the challenges with you it will save you effort.

How do you brainstorm upon an idea ? I usually do Chat-GPT and Gemini but, problem with them is they don't criticize the idea well, also they don't build further upon idea. Your views ? Any suggestions ?
