Why are the CEOs of India's two biggest airlines, IndiGo and Air India, both foreign nationals?
What does this say about our own leadership pipeline? Or, am I missing something?
Rakesh Gangwal and Rahul Bhatia co-founded IndiGo Airlines in 2006, aiming to create a successful low-cost airline in India. Gangwal later stepped down from the board in 2022 but retained a significant stake in the company.

The domestic skies are clearly dominated by IndiGo, holding a commanding 61.6% market share by passengers carried.
