TIL a few things about the twitter algorithm and it might surprise you. A user clicking on your tweet & staying there for >2 min is weighted 22x more than them just liking your tweet. If they click into your profile through your tweet & likes/replies to a tweet? 24x more than a like. If they reply to your tweet? 54x more than a like. If they reply to your tweet and you respond to their reply? 150x more than a like. If they report your tweet? -738x the effect of a like (you're basically screwed). This helps so much when you are building recco for your own social app. Linkedin would be similar.

honestly wild how much time on tweet matters vs simple likes. makes you realize that “lurkers” who actually read your stuff are more valuable than the guy who throws you a like and scrolls. depth > vanity.

i think this shifts the creator mindset from “make it go viral” to “make them care enough to respond.” you don’t need 100k likes. you need 100 people having an opinion and showing up in your replies.
