Hey I am on Medial • 3m

Hello, This is my first post. I was working as a software engineer in an MNC, it was an average job with average growth but I didn't like the environment it had for me, although my peers were great but the management was not at all good. so I decided to take a break and figure out what to do ahead, whether I'm at the right place or not. I came across CAT as I had an interest to get into management. I was sure of the path and gave all in for 8 months. But my exam and result were disappointing. I literally lost any hope of ever becoming anything again. It's been a few months now. I am still a bit lost and want to figure this out. I am trying to get into IT again somehow. Although I don't feel right at all doing this. *Any suggestions from anyone who's ever seen something or anything similar to this.* P.S. I understand that I am privileged enough to get a voluntary gap in my career and I am very grateful for my family and friends. I guess I am a little ambitious to want better things.

Genuine suggestion: don’t run back into IT if it doesn’t feel right. You’ll regret it again. Instead, try product roles, operations, growth—things that are still in tech but lean toward management. Even a startup internship could help figure things out. You’ve got time.

I don’t want to sound harsh, but this reads like you ran from discomfort instead of growing through it. Every job has bad management. You need to develop resilience, not just jump ship every time it gets hard. Maybe it’s time to build grit before trying again.

Bro, take the L and move. There’s no shame in failing at CAT. It’s not a personality trait. But don’t float in this “figuring it out” phase forever either. Get some momentum. Even a contract gig, remote job, or volunteering can spark clarity.
