I’m looking forward to building my content library on Medial. As much as I love LinkedIn, the authenticity factor is severely compromised on that platform. Most people are just propping up their own employer’s achievements, or sharing how they’ve achieved the greatest thing in life by completing a course on Coursera. Seeking validation can still be a lot more subtle than this, can’t it? Modern day social status is just as much “how dressed up is your LinkedIn”, as it is “how great is my life” on Facebook or Instagram. Finally there’s a platform that puts the BS aside. I feel like there’s a gamified touch to the UI, it feels quite playful and immersive, but can still improve in terms of finesse and crispness (unless that’s not what medial is going for, then this feedback may not be useful). Nonetheless, let the keyboard wars on how the 21st century private sector and startup/VC landscape is “this” and “that”, begin 😄
