According to Malhotra, curd's lactic acid bacteria improve the function of the gut barrier, lower inflammation, and encourage the synthesis of short-chain fatty acids, all of which are beneficial to colon health. The probiotics in curd also lessen bloating and enhance nutrition absorption.
