Here's more information about what we are aiming with the hardware of the TimeFlix Watch ⌚ and why it provides a smart timekeeping method for you 1. TImeFlix watch always shows the time. This is done by the physical hands that are being rotated peripherally and above the actual display. They do not overlap the display contents. And you can quickly view the time by just glancing at your wrist (just like a normal classic watch) You don't need to flick you wrist or anything 2. The AMOLED display is only used for the "Smart" features like workouts, notifications, and third party apps. Using the display less throughout the day means less power usage and thus longer (multiweek) battery life 3. No more smudged up screen on your watch. You don't tap the glass because it isn't a touchscreen watch. It efficiently utilizes a Four button navigation system, with a clean and simple user interface, getting you faster where you wanna reach. We are reworking the UI to use this system more efficiently - Button gestures- Custom mappable so you can for instance assign a double click or long press to the torch (yes the watch has a physical led torch) or launch a quick workout, or start a timer. - Using buttons instead of a touchscreen ( on a tiny display which is already fiddly) you develop your muscle memory. This allows you to open apps dismiss alerts, start a stopwatch or control your phone with your wrist, without even looking. Overtime you remember which button combinations will get you to which page thus making it easier and faster 4. The watch uses a really low power chipset- the Ambiq Apollo Blue 4 Plus which takes care of BLE connectivity, the UI and the health algorithms. The timekeeping although connected to the main processor, is handled mainly in control of a Seperate realtime clock which keeps the hands ticking even when the watch has less power left.
