There's a reason why "boring theory" exists - it builds foundational knowledge that you don't realize you need until later. You think you don't need algebra? Try budgeting without understanding basic equations. You think literature is useless? Good luck communicating effectively without understanding nuance and context. The problem isn't the content, it's that teachers aren't trained to show how these subjects connect to real life. Freedom to choose what to study sounds great until you have a generation of people who only learned what felt fun at age 15.
