Full - Stack marketer🚨 A new wave has entered the marketing field, and I’ve been digging into blogs and posts about it for a few weeks. Yup, it’s a bit scary 😅 but also opening up tons of doors at the same time. Okay, keeping it simple: a Full-Stack Marketer is someone who can guide and jump into every practical step of marketing - think strategies, campaigns, social media management etc.. It’s about having a wide skill set to handle whatever comes up. Take social media marketing, for instance. It’s got these key areas: - Content ideation and research - Content writing - Creative planning and designing - Social media optimization and management Every very role has its own team- researchers, writers, graphic designers, account managers, etc. But as a Full-Stack Marketer, you need to have pretty good - if not awesome - knowledge across all these departments. Like: - Consulting researchers on the direction for content - Writing outlines or even a first draft - Showing how creatives should look (or creating up a draft themselves) - Knowing the ins and outs of social media dynamics Even if you’re a pro in one area, having a solid grip on the others is becoming a must. There’s gonna be a huge demand for these marketers in the next 2 to 4 years. But if you’re a fresher, landing that kind of responsibility straight away is tough - it takes a ton of knowledge and real project experience. So, how do you get there? Everyone’s pointing to “Skill Stacking” as the way to go as far as I learnt. Imagine you’re a YouTube video editor. You start by adding skillsets such as cinematography, camera angles, and visual storytelling to your existing skillset. Then, you start learning retention editing for long-form videos and add it to your skillset. And suddenly you’re knocking on way more doors than you did before. It’s the same deal in marketing. Say you’re a PPC specialist. You kick off with the basics: keyword research, targeting, budgeting. Then, you level up with creative design fundamentals - stuff like visual storytelling, fonts, and psychology. Next, you tackle analytics and reporting with tools like Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. and so on, Why’s this a big deal? With AI automating tons of tasks these days, companies are starting to expect you to bring more to the table beyond your main gig. Being a Full-Stack Marketer makes you crazy adaptable and opens up more opportunities and even a great salary cap based on your knowledge. But here’s the thing - don’t rush it. Skill stacking takes time. Adapt slow and steady, picking up one thing at a time, and you’ll get there.
