Coming from a lower-middle-class background, I'd choose IIM every time. This whole "funded startup at 20" narrative works great if your parents can bail you out when things go south. With IIM, I got education loans, stipends during internships, and a guaranteed high-paying job after graduation that helped my family financially. Three years later, I started my own company with savings and connections from my post-IIM job. The privilege required to choose "startup first" is rarely acknowledged in these discussions. Some of us need financial stability before we can take entrepreneurial risks.
