BIOGRAPHY OF VISHAL MART FOUNDER Ram Chandra, A handicapped who sell Vishal Mega Mart in 70 cr now owns Rs1000 crore company. He was disabled since birth, began his life with a small business and opened a photostat shop in 1986, where he earned only Rs300. He invested some money into that shop by borrowing from others. Then he started a small clothing business in Kolkata for 15 yrs, wanted to do something big, so moved to Delhi. In 2001-02 founded Vishal Retail, grew successfully and later evolved into Vishal Mega Mart, for its affordable prices and quality products making it popular among customers. In 2008 faced huge loss during the stock market crash leaving him in heavy debt and sell his company for 70 cr to Shri Ram Group. Again started V2 Retail, in Delhi. Today his company is one of the fastest growing retail in India. Has 3500 employees at 119 stores in 96 cities. Being handicapped he did this, reminds the ques 'What's ur excuse?'
