According to a report by NITI Aayog and Startup India, for India to achieve developed nation status by 2047, the country needs to double its current number of universities and businesses. As of now, India has approximately 1,120 universities, but to meet this goal, it must expand to at least 2,200 universities. Additionally, the number of startups and businesses must also double, alongside a significant increase in R&D investment, which should reach at least 4-5% of the GDP.
