Little off topic, but worth covering. So many people still think that the Statue of Unity was a complete waste of money, but it's Not! So the total cost of the project was about ₹4000cr, and since 6 years of start, has aldredy recovered ₹400cr through ticket sales. That would look big but that ₹400cr term only account for ticket sales and parking charges. It doesn't account for the money people Spend while visiting the statue. Last year, over 50 lakh people visited the statue, and even if we assume just ₹2000 spend per person, it's 1000cr in economic activities in one year alone. The same has happened with Mahakumbh This time, where the Government got times more economic activities than the amount the spent. This provided jobs to local people and tourists started spending more. And also the yearly visiter count is increasing every year since 2020. So the initial hype isn't over. Thus, it's not a waste of Money!
