Depends on the offer amount and scope. If the offer amount is big, and I don't think it's that scalable, i would sell it. And then start a direct competitor to it or something else. Also i guess that having an aquired startup would add value while I'm raising funds for new startups so yeah

Unicorn obviously

It's not what we desire, it's about the longevity of idea and adapting to the changing environment. In our vicinity we saw every combination happening, businesses not adapting to change and so slowly die & vice versa, businesses who diverted from their mission and lost the traction & vice versa, businesses getting aggressive and pushing their products and services down the throats of vulnerable customers and died mercilessly and so on. Everyone here who keeps an eye on businesses saw most of these scenarios on the real field. It's all about the strength in idea, adaption from customers, changing with time and smartly blending into the lives of larger section of people. What do I want if I am to enter into this endeavour of startups, STAY RELEVANT STAY HONEST STAY PROFITABLE & BRING THE CHANGE I DESIRED .

depends on what and how you're creating it. Also whats the scale and how people are going to adopt it

It depends If your motive is to build wealth and you have an idea, building a startup and selling is a great way to build wealth Else, if running a company is what motivates you, then you will stick with it, even more than 10 years, and no matter if it's unicorn or not

Don't be crazy for being unicorn. It's not like that we think or hope. Just focus on knowledge effort and execution. 10 years a long period that's a saturation point of any product or project. Later either we achieved success failure or closure. In the mean period if opportunity kick the door thn grab it and sell own business empire at least with 10x profitability

well actually depends if the data of success is increasing no need of selling but if its not working or you're still near the edge after 2 years of efforts and have no backup job or anything for funds then better sell it

atleast first build something don't dream

if that startup is your passion then go for it , whether it becomes a unicorn or not, but make sure your passion should be profitable !
