Thoughts on Medial's Shark Tank Pitch That was a crazy battle. Anupam’s opinions were critical, but I loved how Niket and the Medial team responded—neither too rude nor too sweet. Just perfect. Now, about the demo, i have no idea what happened behind the scenes, but what aired was terrible. They didn’t show the the app’s features properly and just from that demo, even I would find Medial boring. (Crazy part? The Shark Tank video editor uses Medial 🤣) Then comes Ritesh’s offer to turn Medial into a showcase app. And i agree with it, that’s what Medial is built for. But making Showcase the homepage, wouldn’t have worked. Who wants to read the same ideas repeatedly? Medial’s early homepage was the news section, and I use to skip it to the Feed tab asap. The same would’ve happened here. That's why they never changed the homepage to Startup Showcase. Now, coming to Anupam’s “They are Ready to change to so quickly & What about that ₹5 Cr investor?” feedback. That's not an issue. Why? 1) As Ritesh said, maybe after a year, Medial would be doing this anyways. 2) Sayan, OG Capital’s founder, has been using Medial since months before OG Capital was even founded. And also Medial was their fund’s first investment. Now knowing how Medial prefers to grow and work, I don't so that OG Capital would have issues with accepting this deal. Thus, at the end, it was a great pitch. Probably among the top 5 I watched. And they got investment from the best Shark, so that's what matters.
