India’s auto market is growing fast, but when it comes to after-sales services, not much has changed. Last year, 4.74 million cars and 20.5 million two-wheelers were sold in India. We’re buying vehicles like crazy, but what happens after that? Most people don’t stick with authorized service centers once the warranty is over. Around 65% go to local multi-brand workshops instead. Makes sense, right? Authorized centers are expensive and take forever, while local workshops are easier on the pocket and quicker. But the problem? The experience isn’t always the same everywhere. Take tyres and batteries, for eg. A lot of people aren’t sure when to replace them, so they end up dealing with sudden breakdowns. And with so many options out there, figuring out where to go and what’s a fair price isn’t always easy. The auto industry is moving forward, but maintaining a vehicle still feels like a headache. Companies are making better cars and bikes, but what about making ownership easier? What do you think? Is it time for a change in after-sales services?
