I am pretty new to the corporate world, and this post is the reflection of my personal opinion. It might be foolish or illogical, so don't get mad and you can correct me if my perspective is wrong :). Yesterday night I had a call with my friend. He is a great guy especially when it comes to planning marketing campaigns. He has 2 years of experience where he handled 15+ websites and literally made them get 5x more traffic. Also he has experience in running ad campaigns. He was recently layed off from his company, and he got news one. But the thing that concerning is package. It's freaking 25,000 Per month/- For a 2 years experienced who has proven track record in getting more leads to the company through his marketing brain. In cherry on top, The company is pretty popular and well-established and could have easily managed to pay him more. He tried other companies and all of them quoted the same salary or even lesser. I often felt, Marketing is a profession that has always been under payed due to its inconsistency nature Most of the company thinks, Digital marketing is just posting contents on website and socials, replying to comments..etc... But it's more than than. Most of the companies just hires 2 guys to handle social media, ppc, seo, email marketing and blames them for not providing results. What might be the reason?, It's due to lack of skills?, or Is it due to underestimation of the potential of proper marketing? or something else? Share your thoughts below.
