Why is India so heavily focused on jobs rather than building something new? Why don’t people encourage innovation? And if someone tries to start something of their own, why do they immediately face criticism, especially in middle-class families?

Because here success is measured by “Log kya kahenge?” Parents flex their kid's jobs like trophies. “Mera beta Google me hai” vs “Mera beta startup kar raha hai”. One gets applause, the other gets raised eyebrows.
