although we have examples to support your argument, but it is always a gamble, we never know whether our new innovation would become something big or just another failure millions. well it's high risk high return so i get your point

Firstly for that you can make a prototype and take feedback about it from your target customers. And if you just provide an existing product, people would just see you as 'just another' choice unless you're better, cheaper or different in other ways
