As an Indian, I’m proud of Volkai regardless of whether it’s fully built from scratch. Using Gemma doesn’t erase the effort involved in fine-tuning and localizing the AI for Indian contexts. It’s still a step forward for us

Transparency? Do you know how many global companies use fine-tuning and call it their product? Microsoft fine-tunes OpenAI’s models, and no one bats an eye. Why hold Volkai to a higher standard just because it’s Indian?

Let’s be real. There’s no harm in using frameworks like Gemma, but Volkai’s branding is misleading. Claiming to be ‘India’s AI’ while relying heavily on external tech feels dishonest. Transparency should be a priority if they want to build trust.
